Treatment Approach
Carol is a practical, interactive, solution-focused therapist. Her treatment approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients resolve current problems and long-standing patterns. She draws upon a variety of styles and techniques to incorporate what will be most helpful for each client. With sensitivity and compassion, she works with each client to help them build on their strengths to identify and achieve their life goals. Often the past can effect the present and her expertise in EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) helps the client to achieve a new adaptive way of feeling, acting and being in their world today.
EMDR Leader
As past Board President of EMDRIA (2019-2020, serving a 2 year term) and the co-founder of the EMDR Regional Meetings in Southeast Louisiana, Carol has brought a higher level of expertise to the region’s ability to effectively address trauma through networking and presentations. Her Three Rivers Training Center also brings nationally known EMDR Advanced Trainers to Louisiana to present on the intense work associated with addressing anger, dissociation, attachment issues, and other mental health concerns. These trainers help to develop the skills of the therapists in our community and throughout this this region. As an EMDRIA Approved Basic Trainer, Carol works with LSU School of Public Health Center for Evidence to Practice to teach therapists about this exciting, efficient, and effective type of psychotherapy.
