Meet the Trainer: Carol Miles MSW, LCSW LLC, an EMDRIA approved Basic Trainer and Consultant

Carol Miles is proud to offer EMDR Therapy Basic Training. Participants will receive a certificate of Basic Training in EMDR Therapy which will allow for the provision of EMDR Therapy with a wide range of clients. Participants will also be eligible to attend further trainings in EMDR Therapy at the advanced level, participate in the EMDRIA Regional Meetings, and be eligible to pursue certification in EMDR Therapy.

This Virtual Basic EMDR Training is approved by the EMDR International Association with an innovative format. The training is designed to lead participants in a sequential learning experience emphasizing conceptual clarity, procedural details, and skill development through a combination of lectures, discussions drawn from actual EMDR therapy sessions, and supervised practice sessions to develop skills throughout the training. Participants will learn via lecture, video, demonstrations, Q & A sessions, role play demonstrations, small group exercises, and supervised practicums. Each participant will experience EMDR as both clinician and client through two training modules. The format of these workshops has been designed by Carol Miles MSW, LCSW LLC, and approved by EMDRIA.

“Carol was very prepared to transfer this training to a virtual training. She planned ahead and anticipated any potential issues that could arise so it really flowed very well. It was really helpful to learn about the interweaves and adjustments to make when working with special populations. I really got a lot out of it and feel much more prepared to continue working with clients. I also enjoyed the zoom and canvas experience. It was a unique way to complete this training and was not at all disruptive to the process.” (Virtual Training 2020)
“I learned so much from this training. Carol presents the information in a way that is engaging and approachable. She puts participants at ease and I felt very comfortable practicing while knowing it was a learning process. Not only do I have a much better understanding of EMDR, but Carol’s anecdotes and expertise made me rethink ways I conceptualize trauma.” (2019 Hattiesburg Training)
